Message of the Month:

When trying to make a major decision, one often seeks prayer and counsel. One such request came to me recently and so after listening a while it seemed obvious the confusion surrounding the decision was truly based on the lack of a true relationship with God.
After asking some rather direct questions I shared my insight: it seems to me the real question I must ask is, "Have you asked the Lord Jesus to be your Savior, forgive your sins, and commit your life to Him?"  " I believe the issue and all the confusion is based in this main question."
As I had guessed, the person talked a lot about God and yet had avoided truly asking Jesus to be their Lord and Savior, in addition to the fact they had not committed their life to Him.  We spoke for a while and then a profound revelation came out of the prayer seekers own lips: "My biggest problem is my SELF! I don't know why I go after what's not good for me."  I then shared... you know the scripture tells us to
"Seek First the kingdom of God and His righteousness,
then all these things will be added unto you." Matthew 6:33.

When our relationship with God is in order, then God helps us make the right decisions.  He gives us his word, the Bible, and the Holy Spirit to help us follow him.  When we choose to follow The Lord Jesus Christ our choices are submitted to Him and He will lead and guide us.
When our relationship with God is out of order, so is everything else in our lives.  If we are on the throne of our lives we are lead by our own desires and not necessarily God's, thus bringing the confusion. That is what happens when SELF is in charge.
Get the first decision right and the rest will begin to fall into place.  The answers may not be what you thought were the best or what you thought was "right" for your life but God knows what He created you for and He also knows what you will find most fulfilling.

God Bless You!
